Hello Beautiful Souls,
There are some fun drinks trending lately since everyone has been indoors and bored. Trying new fun recipes is a great way to get off the internet and enjoy some fun coffees and teas, since a lot of us still can’t go sit at our favorite coffee shops. I know some places are opening back up and doing takeout orders, which is great if you can go support your local small business safely.
I have a daytime healthy coffee treat for you and a nighttime moon milk recipe. These will involve a couple of extra ingredients compared to similar recipes you’ll see online, but it’s totally worth it. I wanted to put a little bit of my own flair into these recipes so there was something unique about them. I hope you will try them out and let me know what you think when you do.
First up is a healthy coffee treat you can start your day off with. You may simply know it as the whipped coffee trend, but it’s actually called a Dalgona.

Lion’s Roar Dalgona
2 packs of organic instant mushroom coffee (Four Sigmatic Lion’s Mane)
1 tablespoon organic coconut sugar (add more sugar if you want it sweeter)
1 tablespoon hot water
1 cup organic coconut milk
1 capsule of turmeric powder (or ½ tsp)
1/2 teaspoon Dunaliella Salina powder (algae)
Add your coffee, sugar and water in a bowl and blend with a mixer until thick and fluffy. About 7-10 min. In a glass, add about half of your coconut milk and add in the turmeric powder and Dunaliella powder. Mix with a whisk until blended. Add your ice and the rest of your coconut milk. Top off with the whipped coffee. Enjoy!
What does it do for you?
It has a very earthly flavor. Four Sigmatic’s mushroom coffee is made with organic, Arabica coffee beans with only half the caffeine as a regular cup of coffee. Lion’s Mane and Chaga support a balanced mind and body. Coconut sugar has a low glycemic index. Turmeric has many health benefits one of which helps reduce inflammation in the body. It helps fight free radicals that damage skin and cause it to age prematurely. Dunaliella Salina powder, helps fight infections – It contains vitamins, proteins, and essential fatty acids which strengthen the skin's immunity against infections. A huge source of beta-carotene is found in this algae, which helps produce vitamin A, and the body uses it to produce retinol. The body then uses retinol for new skin cell production. Coconut milk is packed with vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5, and B6 as well as iron, selenium, sodium, calcium, and magnesium.

Now I have a nighttime treat for you that may aid you in a more restful sleep. This is my Dragon Moon Milk. This will help put any grumpy Dragon into a restful slumber.
Dragon Moon Milk
1 cup unsweetened vanilla organic almond milk
1 teaspoon organic lavender flowers
1 teaspoon organic chamomile flowers
1 honey stick (or to your taste)
⅛ teaspoon organic vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon organic butterfly pea powder
Heat up the almond milk in a saucepan and bring it just to a simmer then turn off the heat. In a muslin bag or tea bag filter, add the lavender and chamomile flowers steep for 5-7min then remove the bag. If you don’t have a bag to use just strain the flowers out. Add in your vanilla extract, honey, and butterfly pea powder, mix well. Poor into your favorite mug and enjoy! It’s an awesome blue color!

What does it do for you?
It’s a floral sweet treat. Almond milk is a good source of Vitamin E. Vit E is a powerful antioxidant that combats inflammation and stress in the body. Lavender has many benefits. It is a nervine herb, helping to relax the nervous system. Lavender is known for helping to restore calm and provide relief from occasional anxiousness. Chamomile is also a nervine herb. Chamomile helps you relax and wake feeling refreshed. Honey can help lower your blood pressure and improve your cholesterol, it also has many antioxidant compounds. Butterfly pea powder is loaded with antioxidants, it has anti inflammatory properties, it helps boost your immune system, may help reduce high blood pressure, helps fight insomnia, and helps reduce stress and anxiety.
I love trying new things or putting a twist on old favorites. Exploration in the kitchen is very therapeutic, and I highly recommend you get in there and try something new often. I would love to know if you have already tried a dalgona coffee or a moon milk recipe and how you liked it? Share them with me!
Be well on your journey.
